Football Recap: Riverbend Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Riverbend and Briar Woods squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Riverbend had to settle for second. They took a hard 32-15 fall against the Briar Woods Falcons. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 48-18 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

It was another big night for Brady Carmical, who rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 230 yards while completing 72.2% of his passes for Briar Woods. That's the most rushing touchdowns Carmical has posted since back in September. 141 of Carmical's passing yards were hauled in by Colin Capistrant.

Riverbend's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Briar Woods, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Riverbend does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Briar Woods, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-14 win against L.C. Bird on the 7th.
