Softball Recap: Bishop Carroll Picks Up 16th Consecutive Win

Bishop Carroll came tearing into Tuesday's contest with 15 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the East Blue Aces a 15-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-1 on Tuesday.

Allyson Orth was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Paige Stroot and Keira Stripling did most of the damage at the plate: Stroot went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Stripling went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Sydney Domebo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Bishop Carroll kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 18 consecutive games.

Bishop Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for East, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Looking ahead, Bishop Carroll will face off against Goddard at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
