Football Game Preview: Sunnyside Grizzlies vs. Gonzaga Prep Bullpups + How To Watch

The Sunnyside Grizzlies will challenge the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Sunnyside's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Eisenhower 47-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Grizzlies' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Cadets are ranked 214th).

Ryan Hendrickson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 208 yards and four scores while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Strieck, who picked up 142 receiving yards and one TD.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Sunnyside proved: they limited Eisenhower to a paltry 1.8 yards per carry. The Grizzlies didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.6.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga Prep strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They breezed past University to the tune of 49-7. With the Bullpups ahead 42-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

The victory got Sunnyside back to even at 4-4. As for Gonzaga Prep, their record is now 9-0.

Sunnyside couldn't quite get it done against Gonzaga Prep in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 as they fell 38-28. Can the Grizzlies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
