Baseball Recap: Peoria Lions vs. Richwoods Knights
Peoria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 21-3 to the Richwoods Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 on Monday.
Peoria saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keylen Jackson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Those hits were Jackson's first of the season.
Peoria's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Richwoods, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peoria will face off against Princeville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Richwoods, they will square off against East Peoria at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. East Peoria's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Richwoods' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
