Buford is 7-2 against York Prep since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Buford Yellow Jackets are taking a road trip to challenge the York Prep Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Buford is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering York just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but York Prep ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Cheraw. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Jack Bruner, who's now up to two this season.

The win made it two in a row for York Prep and bumps their season record up to 3-2-1. As for Buford, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Buford beat York Prep by a goal in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Buford since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
