Soccer Game Preview: Franklin vs. Franklin County

The Franklin Admirals will head out on the road to square off against the Franklin County Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Franklin's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Shelbyville Central by a score of 2-0. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Shelbyville Central are ranked 45th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Franklin County and Summit squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Franklin County had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2.

Franklin's win bumped their record up to 17-1-1. As for Franklin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6-2.

Franklin took their victory against Franklin County in their previous meeting back in August by a conclusive 5-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Admirals since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
