Softball Recap: Riverton Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

With a playoff win on the line, Riverton rose to the challenge on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Bingham Miners. This was a revenge game for the Silverwolves: when they faced off against the Miners on Thursday, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Riverton got a great performance from Kaelyn Flynn as she didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Flynn has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Maggie Hamblin was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Grace Leary was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Riverton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bingham, the defeat snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 23-9-2 record.

Riverton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Miners: the pair will be back at it again later today.
