Softball Recap: Akins Takes a Loss

Akins lost against Dripping Springs back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Akins Eagles lost 9-3 to the Dripping Springs Tigers. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Akins saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Rae Ramos, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. What's more, Ramos posted two hits, the most she's had since back in February of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Akins and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Dripping Springs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1-1.

Looking ahead, Akins will square off against Pflugerville Connally at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Pflugerville Connally is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Dripping Springs, they will be taking part in a tournament against V.R. Eaton at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Dripping Springs also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 9.3 runs per game.
