Basketball Recap: Del Valle Comes Up Short

Del Valle suffered their biggest loss since November 21, 2024 on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 82-53 loss at the hands of the Lake Travis Cavaliers. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cavaliers earlier this season, when they won 71-68.

Adrian Mathis was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 8 en route to 14 points in addition to six assists and five steals for Lake Travis. Mathis has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Kline, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 18 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Del Valle and nudges their season record down to 15-13. As for Lake Travis, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-16.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Dripping Springs the next time they take the court. Lake Travis will head out to face Dripping Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Del Valle will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
