Volleyball Recap: Eagle Valley Devils vs. Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans
Eagle Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans. While the Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 25-21 in the first set.
Eagle Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-20, 25-19, 28-26.
Riley Weatherred paced Eagle Valley's offense, picking up 29 kills. Weatherred got some help from Ansley Hopper and her 19 assists. Kaitlyn Garvey controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Eagle Valley's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
