Softball Recap: North Stanly Extends Winning Streak to Three

North Stanly extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 16-6 in the process. They came out on top against the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls by a score of 6-3. Six seems to be a good number for the Comets as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Sophia Crist spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Leah Frick was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Breauna Speight, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for South Stanly, they now have a losing record of 12-13. They haven't had much luck with North Stanly recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

On South Stanly's side, Piper Huneycutt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Ashelyn Tucker, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

As of now, neither North Stanly nor South Stanly have any future games scheduled.
