Basketball Game Preview: Lanier Christian Academy Lightning vs. Banks County Leopards

The Lanier Christian Academy Lightning will face off against the Banks County Leopards at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lanier Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Fideles Christian to the tune of 68-33 on Friday. The Lightning have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lanier Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Flowers, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points in addition to six assists and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Flowers a new career-high in blocks. Adelyn Gough was another key player, going 6 for 14 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Lanier Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Banks County waltzed into their game on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They strolled past the Blue Devils with points to spare, taking the game 52-36. The win was all the more spectacular given the Leopards' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 23rd).

Banks County has also been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Lanier Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
