Baseball Game Preview: Foundation Academy Lions vs. Spanish Fort Toros

The Foundation Academy Lions will take on the Spanish Fort Toros at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Foundation Academy has five straight wins, Spanish Fort has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, Foundation Academy got the win against Master's Academy by a conclusive 8-1. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

Ethan Pate was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Joshua Ojeda was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Foundation Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Master's Academy only posted an OBP of .312.

Meanwhile, Spanish Fort lost 9-2 to Thompson on Friday.

Foundation Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs over those games. As for Spanish Fort, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
