Soccer Game Preview: La Vernia vs. Steele

The La Vernia Bears will face off against the Steele Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Vernia is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

La Vernia's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Canyon Lake by a score of 2-0. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Canyon Lake are ranked 137th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after soaring to eight goals the game before, Steele was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They came up short against San Angelo Central, falling 6-0.

Steele has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4-1 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four matchups. As for La Vernia, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
