Softball Recap: Colusa RedHawks vs. University Prep Panthers
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Colusa couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the University Prep Panthers by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. The RedHawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 2-1.
Ava Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Peyton Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Abril Guzman, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
