Softball Game Preview: Hanover Hawks vs. East Bridgewater Vikings

The Hanover Hawks will head out to take on the East Bridgewater Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Hanover fell victim to Marshfield and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The game marked the first time this season in which the Hawks were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, East Bridgewater entered their tilt with Carver on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Crusaders with a sharp 23-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

East Bridgewater pushed their record up to 9-1-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Hanover, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.

Hanover skirted past East Bridgewater 8-7 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
