Volleyball Recap: Christian Comes Up Short

Christian lost against Cathedral Catholic back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Patriots came up short against the Dons, falling 3-0. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Christian was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-23, 25-20.

Taya Vincent paced Christian's offense, picking up 15 kills. Vincent got some help from Maxim? Pheasant and her 30 assists. Vincent was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Cathedral Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Hanson led the charge by getting three digs and two aces. What's more, Hanson racked up 16 assists, the most she's had since back in August. Zoe Merz also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Christian's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Cathedral Catholic, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 12-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Christian will challenge Scripps Ranch at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cathedral Catholic, they will take on Academy of Our Lady of Peace at 6:15 p.m. on October 1.
