Basketball Recap: Hunter Smart's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Owyhee over Eureka

After soaring to 63 points the game before, Owyhee was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They took a hard 44-28 fall against the Eureka Vandals. The defeat continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Vandals: they've now lost five in a row.

Owyhee's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Smart, who posted ten points.

Owyhee's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-14. As for Eureka, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

Owyhee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-30 win against Carlin on the 4th. As for Eureka, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-44 loss against Lund on the 4th.
