Basketball Recap: Estrella Foothills Comes Up Short

Estrella Foothills lost against Westview back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Estrella Foothills Wolves lost 70-50 to the Westview Knights. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Knights are ranked 103rd).

Despite the loss, Estrella Foothills saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chase Duncan posted ten points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hone Wray, who earned six points.

This is the second loss in a row for Estrella Foothills and nudges their season record down to 7-11. As for Westview, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Estrella Foothills will challenge Agua Fria at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westview, they will take on Cactus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westview has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
