Baseball Recap: Slidell Gets the Win

After losing to St. Thomas Aquinas the last time they met, Slidell decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tigers came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 4-1 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Brayden Calamari was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Carter Bucholz looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Calamari wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Charles Burdett, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Sergio Sotillo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Slidell's win bumped their record up to 24-10. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-16.

As of now, neither Slidell nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
