Basketball Game Preview: New Castle Hurricanes vs. West Allegheny Indians

The New Castle Hurricanes will head out on the road to challenge the West Allegheny Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. New Castle is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Last Monday, New Castle ended up a good deal behind Mars and lost 49-30. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Fightin' Planets are ranked 89th).

Meanwhile, West Allegheny was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 53-49 to Moon Area. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 16-9 in the first quarter.

West Allegheny's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-9. As for New Castle, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

New Castle might still be hurting after the 67-42 defeat they got from West Allegheny when the teams last played back in January. Can New Castle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
