            The Anacoco Indians will challenge the Merryville Panthers at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
Having struggled with four  losses in a row, Anacoco  turned things around against Merryville  on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers  a   5-0 shutout.
 Kyle Scott made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. What's more,  he gave up only zero  earned runs, the fewest he's  had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with three  RBI and one  double. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in April of 2024.
 Scott wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Riley Hayes, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most  runs  Hayes has posted since back in April of 2024.  Caleb Dixon also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
 Anacoco's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Merryville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
 Thursday's   matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Anacoco has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Merryville struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .505. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
