Basketball Recap: Conway Comes Up Short

Conway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 35-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Myrtle Beach Seahawks. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Seahawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2025.

Despite the loss, Conway saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Surhei Brown posted eight points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards set a new season-high mark for Brown.

Conway's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Myrtle Beach, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Conway is set to face off against their familiar foe St. James at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Myrtle Beach will challenge rival Socastee at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
