Recap: M.L. King Lions vs. Tucker Tigers
The M.L. King Lions fell victim to the Tucker Tigers''s stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Tigers, falling 40-0. M.L. King has struggled against Tucker recently, as their match on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Jordan Mccoy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tucker, rushing for 143 yards and four touchdowns. Mccoy is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. Izayah Horsham and his 85 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Tucker's win.
M.L. King's loss was their fourth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 1-7 Locust Grove and 3-5 Chamblee (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 39.5% over those games). As for Tucker, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. M.L. King will challenge Arabia Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Arabia Mountain will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Tucker, they will head out on the road to face off against Lithonia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lithonia comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
