Volleyball Recap: Menlo-Atherton's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Menlo-Atherton had won six straight games and Tamara Rubinsky did her part to make it seven on Thursday. The Bears walked away with a 3-1 win over the Hillsdale Fighting Knights for which the team can thank Rubinsky, who had 14 digs and two assists. Those digs marked the first that she has had this season.

Menlo-Atherton was especially dominant in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-17, 21-25, 25-19, 25-14.

Defeat or not, Hillsdale got some senior leadership from Keily Choy and Mia DeMartini. Choy had 11 digs and three aces, while DeMartini had 21 digs and two aces. DeMartini has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Menlo-Atherton's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Hillsdale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Menlo-Atherton beat Hillsdale by a score of 2-0 on Saturday.
