Football Preview: Grantsville Cowboys vs. Ogden Tigers

Grantsville has gone 3-0 against Ogden recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Grantsville Cowboys will look to defend their home field against the Ogden Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Grantsville comes in on four and Ogden on five.

Last Friday, Grantsville blew past Ben Lomond, posting a 48-13 victory on the road.

Grantsville's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dallan Van Vliet, who threw for 165 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes, and Jayden Atkinson, who rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Atkinson's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Thornton, who picked up 50 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Ogden won against Preston last Friday with 42 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Ogden breezed by Union at home to the tune of 42-7. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won three contests by 26 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Ogden's win came down to the chemistry between Vinscent Apodaca and his top target Synic Harvey. Apodaca threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes while Harvey picked up 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Ogden's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Blake Weston and Truman Vanorden.

Grantsville's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Ogden, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Friday's match might be decided in the on the ground. Grantsville has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 183.3 rushing yards per game.
