Baseball Recap: Pekin Comes Up Short

Pekin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Washington Panthers, falling 11-1. That's two games in a row now that the Dragons have lost by exactly ten runs.

Pekin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Hanvey, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Pekin's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Washington, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Pekin will host Rochester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Washington, they are taking a road trip to face off against Streator at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
