Football Recap: Spring Hill Keeps Lawrence County's Under Pressure + How To Watch

Spring Hill extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lawrence County Wildcats. The Raiders were down 21-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Spring Hill lost, don't look at Lionel Brooks. Despite the final result, he rushed for 120 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Brooks' longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Even if they lost, Spring Hill's defense still kept up the pressure with six sacks. Truitt Kitchen refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself.

As for Lawrence County, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.2 points on average over those games.

Carter Pettigrew produced another solid effort rushing for 238 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 107 rushing yards per game.

Spring Hill wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 23-11 victory against Maplewood on the 19th. As for Lawrence County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-22 loss against Columbia Central on the 19th.
