Basketball Recap: Houston Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Houston can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 60-25 loss at the hands of the Grand Meadow Superlarks. The game marked the Hurricanes' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Houston lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Julia Swenson, who posted five points. She also posted a block, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aubry Boldt, who scored ten points.

Even though they lost, Houston smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Houston moved to 17-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Grand Meadow, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 24-3.

As of now, neither Houston nor Grand Meadow have any future games scheduled.
