Softball Recap: Westford Academy Comes Up Short

Westford Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-0 to the Chelmsford Lions, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on Friday.

Westford Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Dubuc, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Westford Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Chelmsford, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Looking ahead, Westford Academy will face off against Newton South at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Grey Ghosts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 12.1 runs per game this season. Chelmsford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
