Softball Recap: Mount Mercy Academy Takes a Loss

Mount Mercy Academy extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 5-6 in the process. They fell 7-2 to the Nardin Academy Gators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on Monday.

Mount Mercy Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Jahn, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Nardin Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7. The game marked their most dominant win of the season.

On Nardin Academy's side, Talia Taylor was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Taylor has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kara Krupski, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Coming up, Mount Mercy Academy will square off against Mount St. Mary Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Magic are facing the Thunder at the right time seeing as the Thunder are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Nardin Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
