Softball Game Preview: Halls Red Devils vs. Bearden Bulldogs

The Halls Red Devils will square off against the Bearden Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Bearden will be up against a hot Halls squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Halls' pitcher stepped up to hand Skyline an 8-0 shutout on Saturday.

Halls let Brielle Johnson and Makaylie Hutchison run wild. Johnson scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3, while Hutchison scored a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, Hutchison posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Harper Bales was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases.

Halls hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Bearden got the win against Seymour on Friday by a conclusive 9-2.

Audrey Gayle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, Megan Lawson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Raya Inge, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Halls' win bumped their record up to 4-1-1. As for Bearden, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Halls beat Bearden 3-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Does Halls have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bearden turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
