Volleyball Game Preview: Head-Royce Jayhawks vs. Albany Cougars

Head-Royce is a perfect 3-0 against Albany since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Jayhawks will welcome the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Wednesday, Head-Royce got the win against Redwood Christian by a conclusive 3-0.

Head-Royce walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-15, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Albany made easy work of Pinole Valley on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-20, 25-20.

Albany now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Head-Royce, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

Head-Royce was able to grind out a solid win over Albany when the teams last played back in October of 2022, winning 2-0. Will the Jayhawks repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
