Preview: Mt. Gilead Indians vs. East Knox Bulldogs
The Mt. Gilead Indians will head out on the road to take on the East Knox Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Tuesday, Mt. Gilead came up short against Fredericktown and fell 53-44.
Meanwhile, East Knox's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 58-45 to Cardington-Lincoln. While losing is never fun, East Knox can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 605th, while Cardington-Lincoln is ranked 239th).
Mt. Gilead's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-8. As for East Knox, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Mt. Gilead took their win against East Knox in their previous meeting on January 3rd by a conclusive 47-26. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mt. Gilead since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
