Baseball Game Preview: Columbia Blue Devils vs. Red Hook Raiders

The Columbia Blue Devils will challenge the Red Hook Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Columbia turned things around against Wallkill on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Panthers.

Andrew Mocerine was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Red Hook, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Pine Plains with a sharp 11-3 victory on Friday. Considering the Raiders have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Red Hook pushed their record up to 7-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Columbia, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
