Basketball Recap: Washburn Takes a Loss

Washburn lost against Hancock County back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Washburn Pirates took a 59-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hancock County Indians.

When it comes to explaining why Washburn lost, don't look at Matthew Harville. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-16 to rack up 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landry Coffey, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Washburn's defeat dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Hancock County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-14.

As of now, neither Washburn nor Hancock County have any future games scheduled.
