Section 3 Class B - West recap October 8, 2013
Homer added to the longest winning streak in Section 3 Class B - West this week by beating Solvay, 42-2. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Chittenango scaled the state rankings by moving to 301 from 386 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bears were able to move up by beating Marcellus 49-21.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Birdlebough's Billy Ostrander and Dylan Doupe have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-8 quarterback Ostrander has thrown for 221 yards this season, while Doupe has 6 catches for 144 yards. Homer's Alec Bush leads the league in rushing yards with 606.
A big matchup in Section 3 Class B - West this week will be when Gary Podsiedlik's team takes on the Mustangs. The Trojans are in first place, while Marcellus is in third place.
Chittenango led the league in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on Joe Fiacchi's team.
