Basketball Game Preview: Whitehorse Raiders vs. Monticello Buckaroo

Whitehorse is 2-8 against Monticello since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Both will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. Whitehorse is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Whitehorse will head into Saturday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 50-point drubbing they dealt Telos on Saturday. Whitehorse simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Telos 82-32. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 27 points or more this season.

Whitehorse found their leader in freshman Hyatt Thomas, who posted 27 points. Thomas is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Black, who had 11 points.

Meanwhile, Monticello was beaten by Milford 67-37 on Saturday.

Monticello's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Whitehorse, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Whitehorse didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Monticello in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 59-53 win. Does Whitehorse have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monticello turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
