Football Recap: Pine Ridge Comes Up Short

Pine Ridge lost against Deltona back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Panthers took a 12-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Wolves are ranked 107th).

Greta Carlson threw for 69 yards and one TD. Thalia Rios-Diaz was her top target, picking up 36 receiving yards.

Pine Ridge has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Deltona, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pine Ridge is set to face off against their familiar foe Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 10.1, the Fightin' Tigers 8.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Deltona will square off against rival Innovation at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
