Recap: University Trojans vs. Beckman Patriots
While it was all tied up 36-36 at halftime, the University Trojans were not quite the Beckman Patriots's equal in the second half on Wednesday. University fell 79-67 to Beckman. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 649th, while Beckman is ranked 292nd).
University lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Christian Debarge, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds. Andrew Bogard was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
University has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Beckman, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will square off against Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Northwood's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home while University has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Beckman, they will face off against Irvine at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
