Volleyball Recap: Sumter Gamecocks vs. West Florence Knights

Sumter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the West Florence Knights, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Sumter took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20, 25-21.

West Florence's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ansley White, who had 13 digs and three aces. White is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lexi Rogers, who had ten assists and two aces.

Sumter's loss dropped their record down to 7-12-1. As for West Florence, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.

Sumter has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Williamsburg Academy on the 4th. As for West Florence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Blythewood on the 7th.
