Basketball Recap: Locust Grove Snaps 11-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Locust Grove hadn't done well against Hilldale recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Locust Grove Pirates walked away with a 62-51 win over the Hilldale Hornets. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 56-54 victory the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Locust Grove's win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Hilldale, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Locust Grove will square off against Non Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hilldale, they will welcome Catoosa at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Catoosa knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Hilldale likes a good challenge.
