Volleyball Recap: Crawfordsville Takes a Loss

Crawfordsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Irvington Preparatory Academy. The Athenians were not able to make up for their loss to Irvington Preparatory Academy from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Crawfordsville was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Irvington Preparatory Academy work for it, especially in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 26-24.

Irvington Preparatory Academy found their leader in sophomore John Curry, who had 18 digs and one assist.

Crawfordsville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Crawfordsville will square off against rival Mooresville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Irvington Preparatory Academy is set to take on their familiar foe North Putnam at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
