Recap: Argonia Red Raiders vs. South Barber Chieftains
The Argonia Red Raiders lost against the South Barber Chieftains back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Argonia fell to South Barber 41-37. Argonia has not had much luck with South Barber recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Argonia saw an underclassman step up: Carson Vineyard scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Those eight rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Morrison, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Argonia bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for South Barber, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Argonia will head out on the road to face off against Attica at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Attica is ranked 290th, while Argonia is ranked 279th). As for South Barber, they will play host again and welcome Wichita HomeSchool, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Wichita HomeSchool's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
