Basketball Game Preview: Woodland Regional Hawks vs. Waterbury Career Academy Spartans

The Woodland Regional Hawks will head out to square off against the Waterbury Career Academy Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodland Regional has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 189 points over their last three matches.

While Woodland Regional didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Watertown by a score of 63-56 on Monday.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Waterbury Career Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crosby.

Waterbury Career Academy's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Woodland Regional, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Things could have been worse for Woodland Regional, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 77-63 loss to Waterbury Career Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Woodland Regional, Andrew Williams (who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
