West is 0-10 against Lincoln since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 4:00 p.m. West's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Lincoln's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Last Tuesday, West beat Edison 9-6.

Kayla McWhorter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one RBI.
In other batting news, Bailey Dunn was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Malia Morreira was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln). They put the hurt on Modesto with a sharp 17-2 win two weeks ago. Considering the Trojans have won four contests by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Like West, Lincoln also got a great game from a two-way player: Lailanee Jocson. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Jocson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cassidy Cabanig, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. Lilliana Sandoval also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. West's record now sits at 3-1.
Lincoln's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. West has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Lincoln, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will West keep running through batters, or will Lincoln buck the trend?
West might still be hurting after the 12-2 loss they got from Lincoln when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
