Soccer Game Preview: St. Albans vs. Nitro

The St. Albans Red Dragons will head out to take on the Nitro Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Albans' last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

St. Albans gave up the first goal on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Red Dragons who were credited with the win. St. Albans got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Lincoln's three. One seems to be a good number for St. Albans as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

St. Albans will be up against a hot Nitro squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Wildcats' defense stepped up to hand the Red Dragons a 7-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering Nitro have won 12 contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting St. Albans from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Bodie Jordan led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Nitro's win bumped their record up to 17-0-2. As for St. Albans, their victory bumped their record up to 3-16-1.

St. Albans suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Nitro in their previous meeting on Thursday. Can the Red Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
