Softball Recap: Borah Sets Scoring Season-High Against Meridian

Borah scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 27-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Meridian Warriors. Even though they lost, the Lions' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Borah got a massive performance out of Maggie McMullen, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that McMullen snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Kayla Campbell, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Borah is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14. As for Meridian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Borah will head out on the road to take on Centennial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Meridian, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Ridgevue at 7:00 p.m. The Warhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.69 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
