Basketball Recap: Hawaii Prep Triumphs

Hawaii Prep proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 41) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the Damien Monarchs out 51-49. While the Ka Makani didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Hawaii Prep's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Damien, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hawaii Prep will venture away from home to take on Kamehameha Hawai'i at 6:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Damien, they will face off against Hawaiian Mission Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Damien is facing Hawaiian Mission Academy at the right time seeing as Hawaiian Mission Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
