Basketball Game Preview: Sam Rayburn Rebels vs. Tom Bean Tomcats

Sam Rayburn and Tom Bean are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Sam Rayburn Rebels will take on the Tom Bean Tomcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Tuesday, Sam Rayburn came up short against Whitewright and fell 38-31. While the Rebels didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 8-4 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Tom Bean took a blow against Honey Grove on Tuesday, falling 61-26. The Tomcats have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Tom Bean now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Sam Rayburn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.

Sam Rayburn skirted past Tom Bean 35-32 when the teams last played on January 7th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sam Rayburn since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
